Looking for affiliate marketing in Leeds, West Yorkshire? If you’re Yorkshire based, we’re pretty close. I’m based in Leeds, UK and have been an affiliate marketer for several years now. I first started looking at affiliate marketing back in the early 2000’s after a spot using eBay to buy and sell. I noticed the ebook sales were taking off and after buying an ebook myself, I decided to create my own!
The only problem was I couldn’t get people to my ebook! So I took a course on website marketing and this led me to affiliate marketing.
Affiliate Marketing Leeds
Affiliate marketing sounds like the perfect business model. Simply direct website traffic to a product and sit back and collect the money, right?! Well, that’s not exactly how I found it to be and I’m sure you’ve probably has some similar insights. I took a number of courses promising the moon and was pretty disappointed with them.
It wasn’t until 2014 that I actually found a mentor, who I’ve followed to this day. You can check out his free videos here.
Affiliate Marketing Leeds – What I Found
I found affiliate marketing was very difficult in the beginning. I tried all kinds of SEO tactics to get people to my websites and sell affiliate products. This even led to a couple of actual jobs (one of them even was a 9 to 5!) doing SEO for various companies. I now help small businesses with their `SEO – checkout my website at SEO Specialist Leeds.
What worked the best for me with affiliate marketing was combining three elements which, in the beginning, I didn’t know about:

- The use of high ticket products – higher than average priced items which pay out much more per sale
- The use of subscription products – one sale equals monthly commissions, coming in for sometimes years, from that one sale!
- Paid marketing – much more reliable than organic and much more scalable too, and less time consuming.
I bent over backwards trying to make affiliate marketing work with organic marketing alone for some time. I learned loads in the process, but the biggest takeaway was that paid marketing works much better.
But in order to capitalise on paid marketing strategies, you need subscription and high ticket products. With these in your arsenal you can afford to use paid marketing. Paid marketing is always out of reach if you only choose low value products to sell – there’s just not enough scope to test out your marketing campaigns with low cost items which offer lower commissions.
Affiliate Marketing Leeds – Commission Structure
Commission matters when you’re an affiliate. I started by trying to sell the things I would buy online – things like books. But books are low value and low mark-up. You can only even make tiny commissions on tiny commission physical products. Plus Amazon, who I used to affiliate for, has steadily lowered its commissions for affiliates over the years.

Instead, choose digital products, not physical ones. Digital products pay much more (30%-40%) commissions compared to physical products (1%-10%). Add to this strategy subscription products which pay recurring commissions and high ticket products and you’re already much further again in the game than I was 2-3 years into my affiliate marketing journey.
