Shifting Your Vibration To Create More Abundance

Shifting your vibration sounds a little woo, I’ll admit! What does it actually mean to “shift your vibration”? We know when we are in a high mood, because we’re uplifted and excited about life. But then when we are low, we can neglect our health and stop doing the things which lift us up. If you’ve been in a low vibration for some time, you may even be depressed. Once in this vibrational state, it is much more difficult to bring yourself up. It can seem as if the world is against you and nothing seems to go right.

So how can you shift your vibration so that things start improving in your life?

When you’re down, it can be hard to shift your vibration. You cannot jump from a very low vibrational match to a very high one instantly. If you have experienced grief, for example, you may carry it for some time. The reason why you cannot change your circumstances simply by thinking better thoughts is often due to inner wounds and trauma trapped in the body.

If your trauma is triggered (after a recent bereavement, for example), you can find yourself falling down the vibrational scale again, even after you have picked yourself up. There’s many strategies for lifting your spirits and it’s a good idea to start with some basic concepts such as proper diet and exercise. If your body is not in good shape, it can be harder to shift to a high vibrational frequency.

Although massively normalised, alcohol consumption will lower your vibrational frequency. Fast food, convenience food and highly processed foods and those high in sugar can also lower your vibrational state. Sugar in particular spikes your insulin levels and you can find yourself going from high to low very quickly, with more need for fast energy (sugar) due to the energy dip from an insulin spike. It’s a vicious circle of highs and lows, much like with alcohol consumption. If you find yourself on a roller coaster in life, it’s a good idea to start by looking at what food and drink you consume.

Shifting Your Vibration – Exercise

It has become easy to live a sedentary life, and barely moving our bodies can lead to poor health and lower our vibration. Many people drive to work and remain seated much of the day. This can lead to putting on weight and other health problems relating to poor posture, back and shoulder pains.

Physical inactivity leads to a 24% higher risk of coronary heart disease.

So if you’re not regularly exercising, your body is going to have a lower vibrational frequency than someone who looks after themselves with regular exercise.

It sounds obvious actually that diet and exercise are the foundations for a heathy mind and body, and greater access to higher levels of health, wellbeing and higher frequency. But details are often overlooked and it is easy to look for instant fixes instead of actually putting in some work.

Shifting Vibration – Grief & Trapped Energy

Have you had some trauma in childhood, or even later in life? It can get stored in the body and triggered easily. You may find you are purposefully avoiding difficult situations and circumstances to help you avoid the trigger.

This can lead you to live a smaller life, creating more frustration.

There are various tools to help with trauma including counselling, breath work, hypnosis, EFT Tapping and NLP – Neuro Linguistic Programming.

If you struggle expressing anger, this can lead to trapped energy which perpetuates the problem whenever a difficult situation arises. So even if you are working diligently in other areas of life to pursue greater prosperity and abundance, your patterns of repression can keep you stuck.

Moving Up The Vibrational Scale

To move up the vibrational scale (see above) you can consciously choose better feeling thoughts. If you’re trapped in the past, re-living emotional hardships and wounds, bringing mindfulness to your state can help initially.

Meditation can help you bring awareness to the inner wounds and emotional blocks you are carrying.

Once you become more aware of the wounds which are keeping you stuck, you can start to release them. You can think differently about things which keep you stuck in a low vibration.

If you find yourself stuck in a low vibrational energy, nothing seems to go right. Your habits could be working against you, and there are things you can do to bring about change. Look at your eating and exercise habits for a start. Have you any childhood wounds, or are you struggling to express yourself clearly? If you have some trapped emotional wounds in your body, they can keep you in a low vibrational state for years if you don’t get the right help and support. Speak to a counsellor or use EFT tapping, breath-work, hypnosis or another therapy to help you gain understanding of trapped emotions.
